31 Day Challenge ~ Day 1: Red

Hello! So here we are with
Day 1 of the 31 Day Challenge. Today's theme is RED.

Here is Color Club ~ Santa's Cinnamon. It's a beautiful red glitter jelly polish and it's also a cinnamon scented smelly polish.

It was really hard to take a picture of this polish. It's really pretty in real life. It looks as if it's glowing.
Most of you know that red is not one of my go-to colours. One thing I love about this challenge is that I will have to use colours I've never used before!

Check back tomorrow for Day 2: Orange =)

Also check out everyone else doing this challenge with me:

Make Up Store ~ Muchion

Today I have a very special polish to share!

Make Up Store ~ Muchion

Named after the wonderful Muchion! Who's Muchion you ask? Well, she is the lovely lady who was so kind to let me do a group order of holographic polishes and ship them to Canada!

MUS has fantastic shipping by the way. They super packed everything in large bubble wrap and they ship with a hazardous material licence, not like some of those other companies that lie and say they are sending "art supplies".

Now back to the polish...

This polish is like a gorgeous deep shimmery red. It looks fantastic in all lights.
Above is outdoors in sunlight.

I usually am not gravitated to reds, but this one speaks to me. This is the first red polish I have actually ever worn...I think.

The shot below was taken in a sunlight filled room.
"Muchion" is packed with shimmery, micro-flakie goodness.

Thank-you Muchion for sending this polish to me,
and thank you Make Up Store for making it!

How could would it be to have a polish named after you??? Which reminds me that I need RBL Scrangie...

MUS polishes can be bought at Make Up Stores around the world, starting at $14. For purchasing within the USA and Canada visit the Denver store or phone in to place your order =)

If you have Barielle ~ Elle's Spell. . . YOU MUST TRY THIS!!

So, you may or may not know that I am not a fan of reds...
Well when I got Barielle ~ Elle's Spell I WANTED to love it, but let's face it, it's a red! Elle's Spell is a flakie in a red jelly base. Often times people will layer it over black, but I dislike black/dark vamps as well... Soooo, when my bf selected it for me to wear, I decided I would make this work...

I Present you with my awesomesauce   Elle's Spell hologram mani =D

If you have Elle's Spell + a holo glitter, YOU MUST TRY THIS!!! PICTURES DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE...
you could probably also get the effect with by layering a flakie polish and a jelly polish if you don't have Elle's Spell... =p

To get this amazing look, I used:
** 1 coat of Sugarplumb Fairy
** 2 coats of Elle's Spell

(BC = Orly Bonder, TC = Poshe)

<--- Here is Color Club ~ Sugarplumb Fairy
for reference (from the Beyond the Mistletoe Collection)

Depending on the lighting, the polish is mostly red with undertones of pink and black. It has great depth, as the scattered-holo glitter and orange-green flakies look embedded within the polish. It shimmers, shines and sparkles in every light and at every angle! It reminds me of those silver hologram stickers I used to get when I was little...

And here's a SUPER DUPER EXTRA LARGE CLOSE UP!!

I think I'm liking this red...

What do you think??
