31 Day Challenge ~ Day 11: Polka Dots

Today's Challenge is: POLKA DOTS!

I didn't necessarily do POLKA dots, but I did do DOTS! Well dot-shaped blobs lol...

I'm just starting to try and figure out the technique of using a dotting tool. As you can see I'm having some issues with making my dots actually round...
I really do love how this turned out though! In person, the purple is so deep and the golds are so sparkly! It looks super fancy-shmancy.

Rimmel ~ Night Before is the base, and the dots are
OPI ~ Designer De Better and Orly ~ Luxe

This look kind of resembled some sort of an animal print too, but I can't quite pinpoint what one...

Check back tomorrow for Day 12: Stripes=)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 10: Gradient

   Today's Challenge is: GRADIENT!

I didn't have sponges with me (which is how I've learned to do gradients) so I decided to use a stamping technique for my gradient!

For this look, I first painted my nails white (this makes the neon colours look more vibrant!) Then I used the image plate
BM-319 to stamp the neon gradient.

For the gradient, I used an assortment of bright colours, Color Club neons, OPI ~ Fly and Orly ~ Frolic. I lined up the bottles in a row, pink, yellow, green, blue, purple. Then I unscrewed all the lids so I'd be able to work quickly.

On the image plate, I put a drop of each colour of polish beside each other and slightly overlapping. Once there was a drop of each colour, I scraped the polish across the image once, then once again to help the colours blend, and voila! You can see on the pinky I scraped too many times and the colours mixed too much and became muddy. It really is quite easy once you get the hang of it!

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 9: Rainbow

Today's Challenge is: RAINBOW!

For this challenge I decided to do skittles! (Each nail a different colour) I really really liked how this turned out! I used Color Club neons, OPI ~ Fly and Orly ~ Frolic.

I then used image plate BM-315 to stamp the criss cross pattern. For each nail, I used the colour on the adjacent nail beside it for stamping. So the yellow nail had pink stamping, the green nail had yellow stamping etc.

I think my favourite colour combos are the teal and purple nails!

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 8: Metallic

Today's Challenge is METALLIC!

For metallic I decided to go with one of my favourite golds! Here is China Glaze ~ 2030. It's from an old Khrome collection.

These polishes have an amazing finish! They are smooth and don't show any brushstrokes at all!

Most of the Khromes are pretty hard to find now, but many companies have started making polishes with these finishes, such as the Essie Mirror Mettalics. While these are not truly chrome and reflective like Minx, they are still pretty amazing!

Check back tomorrow for Day 9: Rainbow =)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 7: Black and White

   Today's challenge is
BLACK AND WHITE!

I painted my nails black, then I used a simple full nail design stamp with white polish. I love how intricate this pattern is and how it looks super complicated, yet it only took a few minutes to do!

The stamping plate I used is BM-315. It's from the new 2012 set.

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 6: Violet

   Today's challenge is VIOLET!

This polish is one of my top ten favourites!!!
China Glaze ~ IDK

JUST LOOK AT THAT HOLOness! I promise you that this is not photoshopped! I just took this picture under a kitchen light!

IDK is from the China Glaze OMG collection. Out of all the holographic polishes I've seen, none compare to the OMG's.

The holo effect in these polishes is so smooth. Not all the colours in the collection are this holo though, some of my pink shades are barely visibly holographic =(

This one however is amazing!!! I love purple holographic polishes =)

This is what it looks like in the shade

...and I'll leave you with one more photo of this gorgeous polish!

oooooh btw, if you haven't heard already, China Glaze will be relasing new holos in 2013!! Boy do I hope they will be similar to the OMGs!
Check back tomorrow for Day 6: Black and White =)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 5: Blue

   Today's challenge is BLUE!

Blue is one of my favourite colours to wear! Here is another holographic,
Make Up Store ~ SIW.

The sun has finally come out here so it's time for the holos to come out!

SIW is a gorgeous linear blue holo, similar to Nfu Oh 65.

Check back tomorrow for Day 6: Purple =)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 4: Green

Today's challenge is GREEN!

This colour is one of my favourites, and I found it on my first trip dusty hunting. It is China Glaze ~ He's Going In Circles, a lovely seafoam green.

I love the China Glaze holographics from the Kaleidoscope collection because the holographic particles are really sparkly compared to other holographics. The particles are larger and the effect is more scattered, while still linear!

I know this post is a day late, but I was out in the sun all day yesterday :p

Check back tomorrow for Day 5: Blue =)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 3: Yellow

Today's challenge is YELLOW!

This is my 1st time ever wearing yellow polish! I actually really like this shade on me. It's from the Essence Colour & Go line ~ 95 Wanna Be Your Sunshine. It is a softer bright yellow, with a subtle shimmer.

Here I have layered OPI ~ DS Shimmer over Wanna Be Your Sunshine to make a yellow holo!

This combo is perfect for summer, a lovely bright colour, but not too bright for me!

Below is a picture of the Essence before I holofied it.

Check back tomorrow for Day 4: Green =)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 2: Orange

Today's challenge is ORANGE

This is only the 2nd time I've ever worn orange (the first being for Halloween) and boy is this colour bright!!!

These pictures do not even begin to show how neon this colour is. The bottle looks as if it is glowing when you hold it!

This colour is:
Color Club ~ Polish For All

I was kind of lazy so I painted it over the silver stamping design I already had on my nails (which you will probably see later on in this challenge lol). I love how it shows through the orange!

An added challenge I've given myself is to try many of my untried polishes! So far I've crossed 2 off my list =)

Check back tomorrow for Day 3: Yellow =)

31 Day Challenge ~ Day 1: Red

Hello! So here we are with
Day 1 of the 31 Day Challenge. Today's theme is RED.

Here is Color Club ~ Santa's Cinnamon. It's a beautiful red glitter jelly polish and it's also a cinnamon scented smelly polish.

It was really hard to take a picture of this polish. It's really pretty in real life. It looks as if it's glowing.
Most of you know that red is not one of my go-to colours. One thing I love about this challenge is that I will have to use colours I've never used before!

Check back tomorrow for Day 2: Orange =)
