Pumpkin Spice Latte, Now Available as a Nail Polish...

Seems like everyone's jumping on the PSL (pumpkin spice latte) bandwagon nowadays!
Now you can get your hit of PSL on your nails! Color club just announced its Pumpkin Spice Latte scented polish, exclusively available online on their website! I grabbed this pic off their insta @colorclubnaillacquer. Will you be grabbing some?

Personally I've never tried a PSL as coffee make me feel like death... But I bet it smells yummy :) also the colour is right on point with trends, featuring what looks like a neutral latte colour creme? Hard to say as the pic they provided totally has shopped fake nails... I kinda want one... I love my cinnamon scented color club polish...Someone buy me one? Please?

OPI Alkatraz Rocks - Liquid Sand

Today I'm sharing OPI Alkatraz Rocks. I think this is a great colour for fall. I used 2 coats of this OPI Liquid Sand with no top coat.
I haven't used any of my "texture" polishes in a while. I'm really drawn to the deep colour and intense glitter of this one. It was hard to capture the colour and I think it comes off more blue than in real life. To be completely honest, I chose a sand because I dropped my top coat and had to clean it off the walls the other day...

I did get a lot of compliments on this colour at work. Maybe I should use my liquid sands more often. I don't tend to wear glitters unless it's a special occasion, but these sands are subtle enough for me to wear anytime.

Spotted at H&M! New Nail Polish Collection!

I spotted this at a Canadian H&M this weekend. A new sleek packaged make up line, including a whole collection of polishes priced at $6.99 each. I've heard great things from my European friends that have had awesome H&M polishes for a while now. I even spy a Chanel peridot dupe on the left side! I didn't pick any up because I was short on time, but I'll definitely stop by again to grab some. I asked the cashier about the new line and she said the make up was really pigmented!

Have you tried the new H&M polishes yet? If so, let me know how the are! If not, will you go look for them?

One of my favourite "neutrals"

I've been busy with work and my jewellery later but I did find some time to paint my nails. Here's one of my favourite polishes, OPI Designer de Better from the 2011 OPI Holiday Muppets collection. I'm also holding a pink macaron from Cafe Joie! So yummy!
Designer de Better has a gorgeous silvery beige foil finish with specks of bronzey-orange. It is really unique, a very simple but gorgeous polish!

Unfortunately I've been away so long and didn't realize this colour is now HTF! (hard to find). It's upwards of $30 on eBay and Amazon... Luckily I got a back up the moment I fell in love with it. If you don't have it you're really missing out! Luckily I here there's a decent Sally Hansen dupe! Let me know if you know of Amy other dupes!

A Nail Polish Mess

Random thought of the day:

I definitely need to clean my nail polish stash, destash and organize... Do people still do blog sales? Is that still a thing?? Geez It's been over a year since I mailed out polish... But alas, I've been away from the bottles so long that I can't remember where they all go and I can't find a bunch of the ones I need for my jewellery! I had a mini panic attack when I couldn't find my Ozotic multichromes. I ended up finding them in the back of a drawer but I still think I'm missing a few!! Oh the woes of a previous polish addict...

Anybody want to take some nail polish off my hands? or come help me organize? Please? lol

In lieu of a nail post, I'll leave you with a cute dog picture!

To Polish or Not Jewellery

Hello! Is anyone still out there listening?

Sorry I've been so MIA. I've just been very busy with school and not being able to paint my nails while on practicum. I've decided to channel my polish addiction back into jewellery making and have revived my jewellery line. Enjoy!

NOPI ~ Be Awesome - Some awesome glitter placement looks bloggers have done!

The other day I was in Shoppers Drug Mart and stumbled upon this interesting NOPI glitter. Its called

Nicole by OPI ~ Be Awesome

This polish really is awesome. It has multicoloured diamond glitters in a clear base. I would have taken it home if it wasn't for the $10.99 price point.

Anyways, since I don't have a swatch to show you guys, I figured I'd highlight some amazing glitter placement designs that other bloggers have done using NOPI ~ Be Awesome. I've never done glitter placement myself, I don't think I have the patience!

These looks are all incredible! Click on the pictures to go check out their blogs and posts.

NOPI ~ On What Grounds?

Hello Everyone!

Today on the way home I stopped by Shoppers and found these interesting Limited Edition NOPI "Roughles" polishes. There were 4 spring textured colours. I decided to grab the teal:

"NOPI ~ On What Grounds?"

I would have grabbed all 4 (yellow, pink, purple, teal) but they were $10.99 a pop =(

On What Grounds is a teal texture "Roughles"?? polish with darker teal and grey specks. It looks both bright and pastel depending on the lighting.

The instructions tell you not to use a top coat. This is to allow the textured effect to show!

The finish starts of pretty rough, but as it wears it gets smoother. I would recommend not wearing delicate snagable fabrics while wearing these polishes.

So what do you think of it? I'm on the fence. I love the colour and I think it's definitely better than plain creme textured polishes, but I'm not sure if I'm sold. I asked my mom what she thought of it and she said it looks like concrete =( I think it somewhat resembles candy speckled eggs!

I wore 2 coats of "On What Grounds" without a base coat and a week later it still looks perfect! It's just a bit sanded down and smoother now, but there were no chips and only slight tip wear which is expected.

I think I'd like to try a few of the other colours from this collection, if only they were cheaper! Well hopefully they go on sale lol...

Do you like this polish??

Can anyone tell me what "Roughles" means???
I get that it's a play on words of "rough" but "ruffles" still doesn't make sense to me for this polish... lol oh well

edit** I found a full display the other day so I snapped a pic. Here you can see the other colours =)

I just stumbled upon this picture and realized that I had forgotten to share it with you.

Stay tuned for more pictures!!

Nabi 3D ~ Navy Blue

Nabi Holograms might not be new or recent, but they are still gorgeous!! A cheap alternative to pricey holographic nail polishes, I got a bunch of Nabis last summer for around $2 a pop! Here is:

Nabi 3D-Rainbow Effect in Navy Blue

I find this colour in particular is more of a scattered holographic. The linear qualities don't show up as well in the dark colour.
I love how bold the colour is though! A contrast to the bright colours of summer. I can't wait until summer...

Anyone else looking forward to summer???

Nails Inc. ~ Hammersmith

Today I have a gem to share with you. I got this polish on sale at Sephora for $7! It's nails inc. Hammersmith from the nails inc. Special Effects 3D Glitter collection.

I love nails inc. polishes, but they tend to be quite pricey. Regular price for them here is about $11.50 for only 10ml. As a comparison, OPI is about $9 for 15ml, at salons.

Anyyywayys, Hammersmith is a gorgeous combination of multisized teal and silver glitter. It's so sparkly that it's blinding in the light. I was very impressed with the polish. I already have Marylebone, the pink from this collection, which I used here. I also bought Maida Vale which I will show you in an upcoming post.

So basically, if you love glitter and don't have this polish already, go and grab it before it's gone!

Color Club Halo Hues ~ Cherubic

This is another gorgeous holographic polish from Color Club. This one is a neutral light peach colour. Cherubic is great for when you want a subtle look but still a pop of holographic rainbow.

I love the polishes in the Halo Hues collection because they have a very strong holographic effect. They also dry quickly and only 2 coats were necessary for full opacity. They also have a glossier finish than polishes like Nfu Oh and Make Up Store, although not as glossy as the OPI DSs. Overall I love them!

PS - As always you can click on photos to enlarge them! Here's a close up of Color Club Cherubic! I took it with my new phone courtesy of my bf. What a wonderful Christmas gift!
Look at this close up!!
Blurry so you can see the holo!!

I think I need to get my hands on the 2nd set of Color Club holographics!!

Look my nails match my shoes!

I was looking through my pictures and found a set I took last summer. My friend Anisha made all these polishes for fun! Here's a quick preview of one of them, "BAD" from her Michael Jackson collection. It matches my blue suede heels! I don't know how she did it. It's pretty amazing!

Stay tuned for more!

Miss Universe ~ OPI ~ This Gown Needs A Crown

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I finally finished my first term of grad school! Now I'll have plenty of time to catch up, write and share over winter break =)

Today I have for you:
OPI ~ This Gown Needs A Crown

It's from the new OPI Miss Universe Collection 2013

This polish is special because it's also a new finish type. They call it a satin finish and you are not supposed to use a top coat. I find it's a cross between a suede finish and a matte glitter/foil finish, but it dries extremely smooth! The finish is very unique.

I also like that this polish dries super quickly, which is nice considering you can't use a top coat with it or you'll lose the satin finish. The application is also smooth and easy. I used 2 coats here. I also saw swatches in the store where they used 1 thin coat over a different coloured polish and it looked really neat.

The bottle also comes with a pretty jewelled crown on a plastic band. I suppose you could use it as a ring?

I have a ton of glitter and silver polishes, but This Gown Needs A Crown is unlike any polish I own! Overall it has a unique finish that is nice to feel after wearing all these "sand" textured polishes that are out now. It is build-able in that you can wear it sheer or opaque. It's also super sparkly in the light! Really great for when you want sparkle without it being too in your face =)

Have you tried this polish? Do you like the finish??

Cuccio Colour ~ Longing For London

Cuccio Colour
              ~ Longing for London

"Cuccio Colour™ Professional Nail Lacquer is formulated with Triple Pigmentation Technology for rich coverage in one coat and true coverage in two coats. Contains no DBP or toluene. 13 mL (0.43 fl. oz.)"

I got this in one of my Topboxes when I was still subscribing to that monthly beauty box.
Cuccio Colour ~ Longing for London, two coats

I really liked the formula. It dried quickly and I could have gotten away with one coat, I used two. I don't usually wear cremes because they can be a pain to apply (splotchy, thick, gooey, too sheer...), but this polish applied like a dream

Longing for London is not the most excitingly vibrant colour, but I tend to be drawn to these sorts of tinted neutrals.

One thing that disappointed me was how difficult it seems to get a hold of these polishes. I think I got this polish in my Topbox around May 2013. Looking now, I don't see Cuccio Colour nail polish available for purchase on the Topbox online store.

I then checked out Cuccio Colour's website and you need to create an account before you can see prices of their products, so I can't comment much on whether or not you can buy from their site.

During my brief search, I did stumble upon this beautiful swatch Vique's Varnish did of Cuccio Colour ~ Iron Clad from their Precious Metals collection. It looks like it'd fit in with the like of the OPI Suedes! I think I need the Precious Metals collection!

Go check it out! AND if anyone knows of a good place to buy these, let me know! =)

Baby Please Come Home ~ OPI Liquid Sand

Have you tried any of the OPI Liquid Sands? I have 3. Alcatraz Rocks, Tiffany Case, and Baby Please Come Home.

For anyone that hasn't heard of Liquid Sand or textured polish, essentially they are polishes that don't dried smooth or glassy. They have a textured finished kind of like a fine sand paper, or if you've ever worn a glitter polish without using top coat.

I think they are an interesting concept and some of them are quite gorgeous, but they can be hit and miss. I wasn't a huge fan of the first few ones that OPI released, but I'm finding more that I like.

Here are some swatches of OPI ~ Baby Please Come Home, a Liquid Sand nail polish from the OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection. Baby Please Come Home is a dusty purple/pink/silver glitter polish.
OPI Liquid Sand ~ Baby Please Come Home
OPI Liquid Sand ~ Baby Please Come Home
OPI Liquid Sand ~ Baby Please Come Home

For those that are always busy and on the go, they are a great product:
- They dry very quickly
- If you dent or nick your nails before they dry it's super easy to fix
- The textured finish hides imperfections
- Since they're glitters, they wear well and you can just add another coat of polish to refresh a worn our manicure.

Any Liquid Sand/textured polishes I should try out??
